Nobody Checked.
Nobody Shared Chalance.

A report on the institutions that made, sold, and detonated the story of Jason Arday

A two-part report. Part One is reported journalism, every claim sourced, contested claims marked as contested. Part Two is a companion essay on what communities owe a record that will not resolve. Methodology and sourcing note at the end.

Home. The author, as a boy, with his parents at the family pool. His father — an autistic physician — was fired at 48, for being autistic. Nobody checked on him either.

The Green BookThe Founding Document of This Paper

The New
Green Book

In 1993, Kretzmann and McKnight put a green book on the shelf and told us to stop mapping deficiencies and start mapping gifts, to build communities from the inside out. They wrote the book. Nobody ever published the paper that came out of it every morning.

This is that paper. Make Love Public is the daily edition and the workbook of The New Green Book, and Issue Zero is the volume it runs down the spine of, asking why institutions keep diagnosing people from fragments, and what it costs when we stop looking for assets and start looking for symptoms.
