Seven laws
01
The site is a nervous system
Nothing stands alone. Every page names what it is connected to — what fired before it, what it fires next. A reader should never reach an end; they should reach a junction.
Test — Can you name the two nearest neighbours of this page without scrolling?
02
Darkness is the room, light is the argument
The ground is near-black so that light means something. One warm beam per screen — the single thing we want read first. Everything else is projected in cool white or instrument grey.
Test — Is there exactly one lit element competing for the eye?
03
Show the instrument, not just the reading
Scientific work states its method beside its result. Sources counted. Steps written down. Confidence spoken in a sentence, never in a score. The apparatus is part of the design, not hidden behind it.
Test — Can a reader see how this number was made?
04
The grid is drawn, not implied
Hairlines are visible. Columns are countable. Structure is evidence of care, and a reader who can see the structure can trust the content sitting in it.
Test — Can you trace the frame with your finger?
05
Cinema, not animation
Motion is a cut, a fade, a slow reveal of one thing — the vocabulary of a projector. Never bounce, never spin, never decorate. Movement carries meaning or it does not happen.
Test — Would this movement survive being described in a screenplay?
06
Every room is enterable from the dark
A person may arrive on any page first. Each one opens with its own title card: what this is, who made it, what it asks of you. No page assumes you came from another.
Test — Does this page introduce itself to a stranger?
07
Content that changes nothing is decoration
We do not count views. We ask what changed because this existed. Every article, film and instrument names the behaviour it intends to increase and hands the reader one thing to practice today.
Test — What can a person do differently after this screen?
