Broadway United Methodist. Mapleton-Fall Creek. Fountain Square. The rooms existed before the grant.
Someone fed everyone who showed up. No one wrote a grant for that.
The labor of belonging has always been local, informal, and female. The field arrived decades later and called it a program.
Shame is the original enslavement technology.
It requires no chains. It works by convincing people that their silence is their own choice.
You cannot fix what you will not name.
The field built sophisticated language for outcomes. It developed institutional allergies to the word harm.

The work is not to deliver resources to them. It is to stop extracting from them while calling it care.

The roving listener. The block captain. The grandmother who knew every child's name. They were the system.

Housing and eviction shape educational outcomes more than curriculum.
Displacement is an educational intervention. The field measures the wrong variable.

Power and burden are almost always separated in public systems.
